In 2022, Sant Just Desvern joined the World Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, led by the World Health Organization.
In this context, D’EP Institut has collaborated in the diagnosis and elaboration of the Action Plan for the project “Sant Just Desvern, Elderly-Friendly City” for the years 2023-2027. To conduct the study, seven focus groups were held with different stakeholders (elderly people, caregivers, social entities, and service providers), a working group with citizens, several technical and political working sessions, as well as an online survey directed to citizens and entities in the municipality.
Both the diagnosis and the Action Plan take into account 8 axes: Accessibility and use of public and private spaces, Mobility and transportation, Housing, Support and mutual aid relationships, Respect, inequalities and inclusion, Social and civic participation, Communication and information, and Social and health services.
The resulting Action Plan includes 51 proposals, 20 of which are in the implementation phase and 31 are new.
