The needs of citizens evolve, and to make necessary adjustments (in services, plans, programs, or policies), these needs must be periodically evaluated. Therefore, when conducting diagnostic studies or needs assessments, we focus on analyzing and understanding the problems that justify intervention and assessing the necessary services or actions to generate social change and transformation.
D’EP specializes in evaluation, incorporating a wide range of approaches through different applied social research techniques: from the most descriptive and qualitative to the most quantitative and experimental. These methods allow us to effectively conduct satisfaction studies and evaluate the design and process/implementation of services, plans, programs, or policies.
Impact studies and evaluations aim to analyze whether a plan, program, policy, etc., has achieved the expected results. We use methodologies typical of experimental studies (with random assignment of the intervention and simultaneous control group), quasi-experimental studies (without random assignment), retrospective case-control studies, and/or prospective cohort studies. D’EP’s experience allows us to identify and protocolize the most appropriate and efficient methodology for impact evaluation. Our impact measurement studies provide evidence on whether the project or policy achieved the expected results, the level of certainty in reporting specific impact results, the extent to which the results can be attributed to the project, and whether these results are transferable to other contexts.
At D’EP, we develop projects that integrate conversation dynamics and active listening of citizens to promote participation and transparency. We deploy techniques and methodologies aimed at incorporating citizens into public action through deliberation and citizen participation.
D’EP provides support in identifying, defining, and analyzing the necessary information to develop and/or reformulate a service or project. In this line, the search and analysis of information, both nationally and internationally, as well as consultations with experts and other social research methodologies, allow us to develop comparability processes (benchmarking) and learning, as well as descriptions and identification of future trends.
D’EP is an innovative organization with a clear commitment to promoting applied social research and knowledge transfer. For over 15 years, it has participated in European projects and other relevant calls in the field of social sciences (such as the Recercaixa program, Digital Agenda programs, etc.). Currently, it has a network of over 60 partners at the European level, a combination of public and private partners, demonstrating the company’s potential and capacity for international outreach.

Gedeon Richter, a company specialised in women’s health across all stages of life, has promoted the development of a study on one of the most common syndromes during menopause, but also one of the most underdiagnosed and undertreated: the genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM). The main objective of the study was to analyse awareness and perceptions of the physical and emotional impact of GSM among women aged 45 to 69 living in Spain. D’EP Institut collaborated in the design of the questionnaire, the implementation of the survey, the quantitative analysis and the preparation of the results report. On June 3 and 4, 2018, the last international meeting of the European Keyway project led by D'EP Institut was held. This meeting, organized by HdBA in the German city of Manheim, focused on the presentation of the final version of the guide and discussed the testing phase of the tools with guidance services and practitioners. The final seminars will be held in June and July in the four participating countries. In Barcelona, the practical seminar “Evaluation of the impact of guidance services” will take place on July 5. During the session, at the Pati Manning of the Diputació de Barcelona, the impact evaluation of guidance services will be discussed and how it allows to value and measure the quality of guidance services, as well as to provide evidence to influence the design of public guidance policies.
