D’EP Institut collaborated with the BETA Technological Centre at the University of Vic on a study focused on environmental perceptions of the river environments surrounding Torrent de l’Esperança, Torrent de Sant Jaume, and the Mèder River as they pass through the municipalities of Vic and Gurb. The study was carried out within the framework of the European LocAll4Flood project, aimed at improving the management of and response to flash floods in Mediterranean river basins.
Through in situ fieldwork, the study gathered the views of local residents and workers regarding the condition of river ecosystems and perceptions of flood risk. The results contribute to identifying levels of knowledge, attitudes, and trust in institutional measures, and served as the basis for designing training activities and educational materials aimed at strengthening community resilience to the effects of climate change.
