Career guidance, a key tool for young people to decide their future
The Adolescents.cat platform with more than 550,000 users between the ages of 12 and 20, together with D’EP Institut, have carried out a study to understand the experience, satisfaction and needs of adolescents in relation to academic and professional guidance.
The study was carried out through a survey of more than 3,000 young people in Catalonia.
Among others, the study shows that 8 out of 10 teens feel lost about their academic or professional future. Most rely primarily on family, friends and teachers to make decisions about their future and access information through the internet, taking guidance tests, going to fairs or visiting higher education centers.
In general, teens rate their experience with counseling services with a 5.8 out of 10, and although 83.5% of them feel more comfortable with a face-to-face counseling service, almost 9 out of 10 considers necessary to have a service online to solve doubts and qüestions.
